Cairngorm Brewery faced the challenge of reducing their carbon footprint and optimising energy consumption while maintaining the high standards of beer production. Our Solution
Biosus Energy, designed and is implementing a hybrid system that incorporates heat pumps, solar energy, cooling and hot water technologies. This tailored solution is aimed to maximise energy efficiency, minimise environmental impact, and enhance the overall operational performance of the brewery.
Key Features
Heat Pumps: Biosus Energy is installing a high-efficiency heat pump at Cairngorm Brewery to harness ambient heat from the conditioning and cooling of beer, in doing so, cool beer but also provide hot water for mashing. The heat pump efficiently transfers heat energy, reducing the reliance on traditional heating and cooling methods significantly lowering energy consumption.
Solar Energy: A solar photovoltaic (PV) system will be integrated into the hybrid solution, capturing clean and renewable solar energy to generate electricity. The solar PV panels will be strategically installed to optimise solar exposure, generating a portion of the brewery’s electricity needs and reducing dependency on grid-supplied power.
Cooling and Hot Water: Biosus Energy is implementing innovative cooling and hot water technologies to cater to Cairngorm Brewery’s specific requirements.
